Happy New Year!It is hard to believe it is 2009 – When I look back over my 37 years; I quickly realize most of this time has been spent residing in Gower Estates.Many things have changed over these years but in many ways much has stayed the same.I would like to list a few of these and I am sure you will agree!

Gower is a great place to live.How can you beat this location?We are ten minutes from anywhere in Greenville – very few neighborhoods can say this.

Gower is full of great neighbors.We are very fortunate that our neighborhood has a great mixture of young and old as well as long time residents and newcomers.

Gower is busy.From renovations and projects to fast selling homes, Gower remains a popular place to live!

You get the point - We have much to be thankful for and I could easily keep adding to the list!

In late December, our neighborhood elected a new board for 2009 and they are as follows:Will Adams, Reyna Thompson, Rob Cole, Mary Suddeth, Lisa Roe, Lara Wannemacher, Dave Gilmer, Bert Karrer, and Mark Cothran.Also, Tad Boland has agreed to serve in an ex-officio capacity and advise us as needed.

I feel this board offers a great cross- section of our neighborhood. We are lucky that our association has been blessed with many previous hard-working board members that have laid a strong foundation.This year will be another great year here in Gower as we have a strong social calendar set.Please be on the lookout for upcoming events via the quarterly newsletter as well as posted signs that will be up a week prior to events.

In closing, I ask and encourage you to do your part as a member of our association.Please take a little extra time to welcome a new neighbor, speak to an old one, and keep your yards and homes neat and tidy!Feel free to contact me or any other board member should you have any compliments, questions or concerns.

Gower Estates Pool was established in 1963. We are over 400 families strong and are located in the Gower Estates neighborhood in Greenville, South Carolina. We are a family pool with a strong commitment to swimming, having one of the largest and most successful swim teams in Greenville County. Along with a strong swim program, Gower Pool prides itself in being a neighborhood oriented facility with strong family values.
